It's been a busy year, we've been trying to sell our house for the past 3 months with not a lot of luck. Also we take students to raise money so they take up a bit of time!
There's also been alot of moot organisation and stuff which all adds up!
You know what it's like, you just got to allot time here and there to different things but I have some nice info about the music project.
'The Wishtness' as it is know now is coming along, maybe slowly but it's moving along nicely. I've been writing a few songs although far from finished. I have to add things like vocals etc. and play around with production.
I've also started up a myspace page in the 'band' area, so do a search fo 'Wishtness' and when you find it you will also find a little piece of music, one of the ideas.
At the moment I'm organinsing a Lughnasash celebrations which take a little thought and working out but after that It should be plain sailing for a while!!!
So I wish you a fantastic Lughnasadh and take care.
Thanks for the messages and I'd thought I'd reply here in a blog!
We had a fantastic conference at the weekend, all the speakers were exceptional. Damh the Bard was brilliant as always and everybody seemed to enjoy the Pagan Disco I supplied until the bar shut just past midnight!
Met some wonderful new & old friends as well as meeting up with some of my special sisters and brothers from our local Pagan group.
I was lucky enough to get a room in the hotel apartment with some of the guest speakers and met some of them briefly. I bumped into Val Thomas in the apartment and talked quite alot over the weekend. What a fabulous person she is, author of 'Kitchen Witch' it seemed we jelled straight away. She gave a flawless conference talk about many of the craft's she teaches and performs. I'm hoping to keep in contact as she's a complete star.
I was also lucky to meet Maxine Sanders & Philip Cargom who gave amazing talks.
Did not get much sleep over the weekend so I'm catching up with it now and after all the Ale I'm also on a detox! LOL!
Still loads of us met up in Boscastle on Sunday, visited the Museum of Witchcraft for the 10th time and then took over the spiders web pub for a pasty.
Looking forward to next years conference.
What now!
Apart from moot responsibilities (if any really!) and helping to organising other Pagan events I can now get a bit more stuck into my music!
I've decided it's gonna take me longer than I realised to get this new music on the road but I'm going finish a couple of tracks and stick them up on the net somewhere! I'll let you know If your interested anyway when that happens.
Also If I've got any conf photos I'll stick them up too soon.
Well the music is coming but slowly. It's not a problem though as I'm trying to think carefully where it's going and making sure the music has real purpose and meaning.
Before I used to just create stuff that had a jumpy melody which people could dance to and the emphasis was for the music to have no real deep meaning, it was gothic rock/metal which had it's place at the time.
There's a kind of split difference in what I'm creating. It's either atmospheric & ambient with poetry or more of a traditional song base 'verse, chorus, verse, chorus, middle 8, chorus, verse & chorus x 2 ( LOL !! )' don't you love it!
Anyway, I've been concentrating on the musical substance and will put vocals, possibly bass guitar and extras on later. Although I'm looking for the vocals to have a major part in being the creative force soon, when I get the equipment set up and a bit of brain space.
Working titles for tracks so far:-
Under Wistmans night, Summer hills, and Idea2-1 ! (2 being the 2nd and 1 being January)
I'm off tonight to teach someone how to use the software I'm using and get him off his starting blocks as he's getting stuck with keyboard latency (when you hit a key there's a slight delay in hearing a sound - bloody annoying!)
Also I'm going have to get my act in gear to start compiling music for the PF conference DJ'ing, so that's going to take some of my spare time up. Plus I've got to fit the bedding units in a new VW I'm converting as I have to use this in early march!
Hey guys, wish you can come along to the following event!
And as an added bonus I'm doing the DJ'ing at the end of the evening!!

Well after days of getting to grips with this new production software I've finally got to a stage where I can start to write some music!
It's been a case of banging my head against the keyboard to get it going but i'm just about there and that I'm able to get my composition juices flowing.
I've focused the project!
Musical objective : music inspired by the landscapes & myth of the South west of England (Mainly Devon! - Dartmoor)
Musical pigeon hole : Pagan ethereal alternative psychedelic synth folk?
or something like that! It kind of crosses a few boards.
So I'm off to get inspired now and see what I can do, so big love to you all!
How are you Graham? How's the music coming?
